Ohio State has the nation’s best class in the 2017 class, according to a new report.
The Buckeyes are the top-ranked recruiting class nationally and the No. 2 overall team according to 247Sports.
247Sports ranks the Ohio State class at No. 1, followed by Kentucky, Michigan, Michigan State, Texas and Oklahoma.
The Buckeyes’ class was named one of the best in the country by Rivals, and 247Sports ranked Ohio State as the top recruiting class, just behind Alabama, UCLA and Oregon.
Ohio State’s class includes top prospects like Malik Hooker, Sam Darnold, Tre’Davious White, T.J. Watt, Malik Hooks, Tyus Bowser, Samaje Perine and JUCO wide receiver Daquan Jones.
In addition to recruiting, Ohio State also has a strong coaching staff.
Head coach Tom Herman has a national title and recruiting coordinator Dan Mullen has the most wins of any head coach in the nation.
The 2016 recruiting class has more top-20 prospects than any other in school history.
Ohio State has a number of commitments from the Big Ten, Pac-12 and SEC.
The Ohio State Class of 2017 has five commitments from Michigan, three from Wisconsin and one from UCLA.
Michigan State has four commitments from Ohio State, two from Oregon, one from Georgia and one each from Notre Dame, Purdue and Washington.
Ohio St. has four commits from the SEC, including four from Alabama, LSU, Florida and Texas.
Ohio St. will need to add one more pledge from the Pac-10 in order to get a top-25 class.
